Sharing value with employees is the key to a virtuous and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem.

First, the backstory: I have helped over 250+ companies create Option schemes to do 3 core things: incentivise, attract and retain talent. I have created content around this (if you type my name in on google you can find some) and consumed content too. What I have noticed is much of the information is founder / business-centric, however, there is very little articulation of share options speaking to the actual recipient. Which is odd because they are the one who needs the most information in most cases

So that's why you are here, you have been offered share options either and so at least one of the following is true:

- You do not understand them 

- You are trying to see if you've got a good deal
